My name is Donald Ricks—please call me Don. Though I have no formal geology training, my fascination with minerals began as a child growing up in Colorado, where I loved visiting rock shops during family vacations. A school science project deepened my interest, leading me to acquire mineral specimens and appreciate their unique forms and beauty. Over the years, my passion grew into serious collecting, and I have attended the Denver Gem and Mineral Show regularly since my twenties, witnessing many notable mineral discoveries along the way.
